I feel the largest effect of the proliferation of cell phones and social media is the degeneration of interpersonal communication skills, which of course translates into very, very poor dating skills. Nice transition of ideas too, from the initial memory at the school dance to club dancing and then to dating.

I’m 36, and my early 20s were all dfms. Some truly terrible decisions happened — but so did some of my fondest memories of being young and slightly wild. I have long Covid now — and thus a lackluster immune system — and what I miss most is being tipsy in a packed bar with my friends. The energy of the crowd, our tipsy contagious laughing while trying each others’ drinks.
