I love that Taylor Swift does her own thing, style-wise! I look at all these outfits and in 10 years, you won’t be able to tell what year they are from, and they will still be solid outfits. She’s taking after some of her influences, like Dolly and Shania, and staying in her comfort zone.
I totally agree with you that she should be celebrated for wearing whatever she wants! If she can…we can!💜
I think Taylor takes a lot of risks, which I appreciate. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Also feel like her core audience would get really bored if she was always showing up wearing tasteful beige and black. She dresses exactly like a teenage girl’s dream of a pop star.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for this comment - you are so right about jessica, i find her eternally endearing!! i love that taylor takes risks and i love that she genuinely seems to enjoy her clothes which i can’t say about a lot of other celebs!!
congratulations on 10k!!! eek🥹🥹🥹 love your newsletter and as a swiftie (been one for 14 years lols) i love how taylors style usually matches (and maybe even mirrors) the music that shes making and producing- it feels very authentic on that level
(like the 1989 era, in 2014-2016, is an easy example because 1989 is all about moving to new york and finding yourself, establishing yourself in your early 20s but also being scared or not being able to let go of the past, specifically past relationships and people.. its a coming of age album and you can see that, in that era, taylor really changed her style. she cut her hair, started wearing clothes she previously didnt wear and it was a rare occasion when she didnt wear a red lipstick and eyeliner!! same with reputation, her 6th studio album, the vibe is very dark and so were her outfits when she was seen out in pubic.. which was very rare..back then ahah.. but thats what reputation was all about (thank you for reading my tedtalk?? lmao omg)
“ i tend to think of this version of me that lives online as a hologram of myself, she statically hums all day long looking perfect but effortless, clever but not too divisive, carefree but still motivated, online but definitely not too online.” ❤️ and big congrats on 10K!
beautifully written and such an interesting thought point! Have recently been consuming lots of content on personal style and this piece hit the nail on the head. I love that she stays true to her style and I hope the same for the rest of us!

CONGRATS ON 10K MY GIRL <3
thinking about my hologram running around in a black leather trench
I feel the same way about Jessica Simpson’s style. Just came across this photo again and I was like, damn — I have no notes. She knows what she likes.
