I love this so much!!! I feel the same about wrinkled clothing, and I'm not sure if a) I've ever used my iron and ironing board except for a boyfriend's interview shirts when he was job hunting, and b) I think I sucked at it and ironed in wrinkles.
Wrote a similar blog a while back. Sadly clothes are treated like museum pieces—Veja sneakers that look like they’ve never touched the ground, essential hoodies being kept on ice for that one Raya date, shirts so stiff and starched they could stand on their own. Everything feels so deliberate, too precious, too clean. And it’s boring—deprived of character and individuality.
don’t be shy drop the link !!! essential hoodies being kept on ice for a Raya date just sent shivers down my spine… couldn’t agree more you’re right on the money
It's a thing, especially in the summer! The chicness. Love that you mention the wedding dress, I still wear the skirt on random occasions on days that I feel thin and my daughter wears the silk woven twin set.
I adored reading this – I am very much the same in that I see my 'type a-ish' tendencies as a sort of base line, as though everything that comes after them are just natural deviations, but they are not to be touched (ie working out daily / keeping in touch with friends / managing 100 side hustles). Lovely to hear another ambitious-yet-not-so account! x
I never iron my clothes! And on rare occasions when I’m going to an event or something I will steam them , but I always embrace the wrinkles on casual days.
this was poetic. as poetic as your chicest in the world co-worker who wore her wedding dress casually to the office. to me...that is true undone glamour in the best way possible. xxx
Okay but why did the gallery at the end make me sob? Wrinkled clothes, wrinkled skin all signs of living well.😭
😭😭😭

Here it is. Didn’t know if leaving a link on another’s article was uncool.
Loved this from the off because I resonated so hard with the type a/b split and then even more for the wrinkles — I don’t even own an iron
