i feel that with social media it grew cool to be critical and in general be very opinionated about things that are accepted by the masses to show how everyone’s taste is soo niche and unique. so totally agreed that liking/disliking something is tied to our ego and the image we want to carefully curate of ourselves

This was nice. I've never really looked at it like that, but this made me consider it. And I agree. People are too consumed by capitalism to understand that not everything has to be a passing trend, or thrown out after two minutes of use. Some things are just good, and that's okay.

This is me with adidas sambas and gazelles I’ll forever love them because the shoes resonate so much with my style and idc how basic or overhyped they are

i totally agree with the sentiment that people hopped on the hate-train as soon as brat got popularized. personally, i feel that our generation needed a thematic approach to the season, a means to change the ways. however i do also see to an extent how over saturated it has become, of course because of us as a people. in this way, the actual message and impact of the album is often overlooked, and the songs are merely used without being given depth from us. because of this ignorance, hate-trains are bound to pop up. unfortunately it’s unlikely to diffuse.

it’s so unfortunate that some things get written off just because it became “too mainstream” (although ive been guilty of it myself). many many forms of art have been mainstream throughout history and remain relevant and beloved to this day. more often than not, art is popular for a reason, and this popularity brings about meaningful conversations and lasting impact that stands the test of time

I love this!! Hating things just because lots of other people like them feels so inauthentic. Cheers to liking what we like, even if someone else thinks what we like is basic. My first job was at Juicy Couture, and I will love their sweatsuits til the day I die haha!
