10 things i have been thinking about this week...

the other night i had a conversation with a friend in the middle of a crowded bar that turned incongruously philopsocial. he was mentioning someone’s character and pointed to their “approach being off”. probing further at this he proposed that in order to really understand someone you should pay attention to how they approach ideas, conflict and overall life in general. this had me thinking a lot about my “approach” and the metaphorical lens i want to view situations through. what came up the most was a desire to be curious.

historically i’ve found my natural curiosity often gets pummeled by anxiety (in my brain this is personified as a david and goliath style fight). instead of thoughtfully approaching a tough situation with a curious lightness i often live within the worst case scenario. but! i’ve been working on this, and i am seeing the proverbial dividends come to fruition whether it is through new hobbies, unexpected friendships or even merely a meaningful conversation with the barista i normally only said please, thank you & have a nice day to.

10 things i haven’t stopped (curiously) thinking about this week

1. i.. LOVE devon lee carlson’s disney printed boy shorts that she wore underneath a miu miu mini skirt at coachella. this feels so refreshing because it is very authentically her which is the perfect representation of approaching fashion with curiosity and humor !!!

   

2. going back to great philosophical thinkers, i desperately need the philosophy according to snoopy from 1967 from ebay

   

3. i’ve found myself scrolling on depop past my bedtime looking at vintage sheer robes from the 50s, i love this one styled on luna roberta

   

4. following in the footsteps of all of the girlies, i am addicted to ironic boat and totes. i have a larger one i use as my work bag but i wanted a mini version to bop around town with this spring. been feeling extra sweet lately <3

   

5. i went to bon bon candy for the first time (!!!) obviously the candy was amazing but what surprised me was how nostalgic it felt to open each glass box with care and build your little personal assortment

   

6. zoe kravtiz has been my consistent ~style icon~ for the past few years and i keep myself going back to the below outfit formula of a pleated mini skirt, t-shirt and mary janes- this has naturally sent me down a rabbit hole of vintage pleated cheerleader skirts on ebay

   

7. refreshed my ear stack this weekend with this little playboy bunny from studs for my third piercing

   

8. fell prey to a targeted instagram ad and purchased this tube top from rails - can’t wait to wear over baggy denim shorts with sneakers

   

9. i would read anything hunter harris writes and her love is blind season 4 substack recaps are my shakespeare

   

10. still thinking about this poem left behind to be found and cherished at elizabeth street garden
